SANDIPAN SAMADDAR

Sandipan leads the Microbial Discovery Team, which specializes in isolating, identifying, and screening soil isolates which can serve as high-potential microbial candidates for biofertilizer development.

A microbiologist with a strong background in microbiome research, most of Sandipan’s research has been focused on soil and plant microbial ecology. He has a great knowledge in the fields of next generation sequencing and related data analysis, bioinformatics and molecular biology tools. He has 8+ years of experience in studying plant-microbe, microbe-microbe interactions, and is experienced in the isolation, screening, and characterization of microbes for potential bio-inoculant development to promote plant and soil health and ameliorate abiotic, and biotic stresses. He has authored 25+ publications including research, review articles, book chapters with 830+ citations and patents.
